We are Paraíso del Jamón, a chain of restaurant bars with four locations in the heart of Madrid, dedicated to offering the best of traditional Spanish cuisine. At Paraíso del Jamón, we are not only a place to enjoy a great meal but also a space where the essence of our roots and traditions is felt and celebrated.
Our History
Paraíso del Jamón was founded by four individuals from León who shared a deep passion for the traditional gastronomy of their homeland. Originally from different towns in León, each had come to the capital pursuing different dreams but with a common desire: to bring the authentic flavors of León to the palates of Madrid. From this desire, Paraíso del Jamón was born—a place where people can enjoy authentic traditional Spanish food, centered on our Iberian cured meats and hams.
It was in 1988 when they opened their first location on San Bernardo Street, and it quickly became a meeting point for those in search of authentic flavors. Customers delighted in the 'Paraíso Tray,' a selection of premium Iberian cured meats, along with their calamari sandwiches and homemade dishes that made them feel right at home.
The success of the first bar-restaurant exceeded their expectations, and motivated by the warm reception, they decided to expand. Gradually, they opened new locations on Bravo Murillo, Reina Victoria, and Arenal streets, thus bringing their vision to more corners of the city. Each establishment preserved the essence of the first, with high-quality ingredients, a familial atmosphere, and a nod to their León roots in every detail of the decor.
Not only did they manage to share the culinary richness of León, but they also created spaces where tradition and friendship are celebrated daily, honoring Spanish culture and gastronomy, always remembering that the best ideas are born from shared passion and love for one's roots.
